Our Purpose

Life doesn’t feel like it’s getting easier. The pace is relentless, the noise is constant, and the pressure—from work, family, finances, and the world around us—can feel like it’s stacking higher every day. Just getting through can feel overwhelming… let alone when something goes wrong.

 

And for teenagers, that pressure is amplified—growing up in a world of constant comparison, digital noise, social expectations, and uncertainty about the future.

 

The data tells the same story—across Australia, suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people aged 15–24, and almost two in five young Australians experience a mental health disorder in any given year.

While it can seem like everything in life is overflowing at once, in reality we usually find that it’s one area of life that’s tipping the balance, draining our tanks and reducing our ability to cope, and so driving that sense of overwhelm.

And that's all a natural healthy human response.  But that doesn't mean we want to stay there.

 

At Paper Kite, we show you how to, and help you to, identify where that pressure is really coming from. Then we guide you through practical next steps to improve it.

 

And you’re not alone in that process. Our Paper Kite Mentors are people who have been through their own challenges and come out the other side. We know how hard it can be, and we also know how rewarding it is to get to the other side. So, they’ll walk beside you when you need it, and equip you with the tools and approaches so you can learn to navigate it yourself.

 

Our programs will guide you in building the stamina to handle everyday life, and the resilience to rise when things go wrong, so you can move beyond just coping and truly thrive in this human experience.
