SLEEP - Why it matters and how we work with our biology

Nicole Lee

This Paper Kite Curated Research paper brings together current Australian and international evidence to explore what the research actually allows us to say about Sleep, why it is important, and how we work with our biology to maximise it.

Sleep is not simply the time when we switch off. It is an active biological process that helps restore the body, organise memory, regulate mood, support immune function and prepare us physically and mentally for the day ahead.

How well we sleep influences how we think, feel, move, eat, work and connect, and those same parts of life can affect our sleep in return.

That is why improving sleep is rarely as simple as going to bed earlier.
